My mom and I at the hawaii Temple Visitor Center. This place was absolutely beautiful.A lot of history is cherished there, including the first translated Book of Mormon in the Hawaiian language. George Q. Cannon arrived on the islands in the 1850's. He noticed the missionaries were struggling to get new investigators because they did not know the Hawaiian language. With the help of Jonatana Napela they were able to get it translated. This made it possible for more natives to have better access to doctrine and have greater joy by knowing/living the gospel. cool Story huh?
side note: I'm EXTREMELY blessed to have these two people in my life

First day here and someone has already asked me what island I'm from. My mom said if it happens again (which I'm sure it will) say guess!

Fumi's shrimp farm is pretty dang fantastic. Its a small little shack on the side of the road. The place was filled to the brim with tourists. I always catch myself looking around, there's so many people from all over the world! growing up in Texas, the only variety we tend to have is english and different levels of spanglish. So its a whole different world for sure but I love it |

These gals will be joining me at byu Hawaii. As you can see the hang loose attitude is welcomed. Hopefully they don't think I'm too crazy. |
